I AM BACK! Yes, in case you didn’t notice my silence or name missing from your inbox, I’ve been replacing my writing and striving with fueling up FULL of God‘s words, presence, and people the past 30 days. If I’m being honest, I’ve been beyond tempted to delight in 30 MORE days of soaking in his peace and understanding. You get it. I bet you can recall taking a sabbatical from parts of real life and wanted to linger longer in the sunshine too. Yes? But the truth is, God has ALSO called us to ... VIEW POST
Blessed and “a Blessing” is the One Who Seeks Wisdom.
My Three Keys to a Blessed Christmas. (Hint: I’m taking a break. 😉)
I bet you want love. Probably a touch of joy? And if you are anything like me, you’re mostly longing for swelling peace of heart this Christmas season. The past couple of months (possibly years) have entangled many of our souls in knots, smothering the path of relief to our deepest internal desires. And I bet you want the flow of favor to open back up. To feel full again… Yes? Boy, I sure do. Sooo… I have prayerfully decided there are three things I’m going to initiate - starting ... VIEW POST
The World’s Notice of You Fails, But God‘s Fulfills.
I am a sinner. No secret, really, because we can all make that claim. But my secret is this... PRIDE. A hidden nagging desire to be noticed by the world feeds the subtle sin of shameful pride. It’s a longing that haunts and taunts like a prowling lion targeting his vulnerable prey and preparing his sneaky attack. I want GOD to be enough. I want what HE says, his approval, his words of affirmation, and his sacrifice to be enough. But yet, I still look to the world. To my husband’s ... VIEW POST
Thankfulness Unlocks the Door to Happiness.
How happy are you today? How about joyful? Just a little? More than usual? Maybe you’ve lost every spark and your joy is nonexistent… The only truth we have in common is that we all want it. Most of us have either already celebrated, or are planning to gather for Thanksgiving in the next day or so. And I don’t know about you, but when I just hear the word, “Thanksgiving,” it conjures images reflecting joy. It seems to me that the holiday was intended to be just that. People happy, ... VIEW POST
God Will Fight Your Battle.
What does it really mean, that “God will fight for me, and I need only to be still?” (Exodus 14:14) I don’t know about you, but in the literal sense, this sounds absolutely amazing. I’m too tired to do anything anyway. So great, I’ll be still. Shoot, I could use a nap too. “God take it. Take it all, and THANK you very much!” Just scribbling out these words, I felt the pressing weight lift with a release of burdensome pressure... In fact, I think I took my first full breath of the day. ... VIEW POST
Finding Courage in Your Discouragement and Wait
How long will I have to wait? My body aches with subtle discouragement and doubt. Will the answer to my prayer ever show it’s face on this side of heaven? (I’m starting to wonder.) I’ve prayed. I’ve waited. And boy do I feel the weight of the wait! You? Is there something you’re ”all-prayed-out” over? You’ve been working on something, you’ve planted seeds, you’ve laid the foundation, you’ve wrestled and pleaded with God for days, weeks, maybe years, and your fire is fading. I know God ...
