I’ll tell you what… Miserable people motivate me.
“Why,” you ask? Because, they are missing something that I have found, and it rocks me to the core with furious passion to find a way to guide them to the light of freedom.
I’ve been “them” before. Frustrated, worried, seeing the dark side or downside of all the “what if’s” and unknowns. Letting petty things get to me, passing judgement on people whose shoes I’ve never walked in, and hearts I’ve never fully learned.
Do you ever feel miserable? At least just a little here and there? Have you adopted a negative lens as life has thrown you for loops and tossed you in unavoidable turmoil?
May I humbly tell you, you can change? You can remove the fog of darkness. You can have joy, you can smile more than smirk, you can mean it, and feel it. And you can be… FREE.
The choice is yours.
FREEDOM can be yours.
I’ve tasted the sweetness and I want it for you. Desperately. But you have to DO something. You have to lean into God like never before.
Talk to him. Learn about him. And don’t let up. Satan will not be happy with your mission, and may try to distract and discourage your walk, but the power of God in you is stronger.
Keep fighting to know Him. Resist every temptation to ease up, and little by little your load will lighten and your path will straighten. And the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit will wash over your troubles. You will live in the abounding, saturating light of His unconditional love for you.
Reflect: Are you struggling with what’s going on around you? Does “miserable” ever reflect how you feel?
Pray: Lord Jesus, the world is weighing me down. I know you are there and I know you are good, but sometimes I allow my circumstances to wrap me up in misery. Please forgive me. Help me seek You like never before. Don’t let me go. I know in YOU there is freedom from all that holds me in the shadow of sin and despair. Thank you for the light of your love. In your gracious name, Amen.
Seek the Word: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7) Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17) So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)
