Would you start (or restart) your day with me here? In this prayer…
Good morning Jesus…
I know you’re here. Right beside me. I may as well pull up a chair, and visualize the reality of your close presence.
Thank you for showing up. I know I can always count on You.
You’re constantly ready to encourage me, and meticulously guide my steps. You’re eager to extend your joy and peace as I make each move.
Oh, how I need that.
When I get up from this place, will you follow me? No, wait! You’ve already been where I will go. You’ve seen the road, you’ve paved the way. But still, you’ll be there. In front of me, within me, and behind me.
Walk with my people too, would you? Rather, remind them, shout to them, that you’re there when their walk gets weary and they need a hand. My family, my friends, the strangers I pass, and the broken souls across the globe. I know they need you. The hurting, the scared, the lonely, the desperate… Will you shake them and wake them from any false reality that tempts with hope in anything other than you.
This whole world needs you more than ever. I need you. I know you’re with us. I know you’re in control. But will you sturdy our confidence in that truth today? When we see so much that looks “wrong” around us, will you plow into our hearts an unshakable belief that you will make all things “right?”
Infuse me with patience in your grand and perfect plan, every hour of this day. Lend me smiles of lasting joy in the unconditional love you possess and provide for me, and every single one of your children.
In your most precious name, Amen.
Reflect: Are you aware that God is with you every minute of the day? Did you know Jesus is in the very room you sit? Will you close your eyes and pray this prayer with me?
Pray: Lord, You hear our prayers. Give us enduring patience, and alert ears to hear Your answers… and eyes unable to take our gaze off You today. In Your faithful name, Amen.
Seek the Word: You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! (Isaiah 26:3) Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. (Psalm 105:4)
