I feel like such a disappointment these days.
You see, this weight—this immense weight—has been heavy on my heart. My soul. My whole being.
There’s so much surrounding me that feels harder than I can handle.
But… I have so many reasons to be thankful. And honestly, things could be much worse. At which thoughts I find myself even more weighed down and swallowed up. Because I can’t seem be joyful when I should, nor can I tap into the sufficient strength I know God gives me freely.
Can you relate?
Has life felt heavy for you too? And are you disappointed in yourself with how you’re dealing with the load?
Do you want to run? And just rest?
Well maybe we should…
Run straight to the resting arms of Jesus.
Today, with me, will you just stop listening to the world, stop doing everything… and REST in his love and his sovereign control? His power that is at work even when we are not.
I know he is waiting to comfort and lift us up. He says…
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11:28)
So, today… Let’s run to him and rest. Amen?
Reflect:
What is it that’s causing you to feel weighed down? Have you been living in the truth that the Lord is fighting for you even when you feel you can’t?
Pray:
Almighty God, I know you love me and every one of your children, and that you are in control of all that surrounds me. For this I am truly thankful. Yet, the weight of life feels heavy. In my weariness, please remind me to run to you and your restful, loving, sufficient arms. In your blessed name. Amen.
Seek the Word:
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. (Exodus 14:14)
Have a blessed week!
