I’m a BEACH GIRL. 100%. Anyone else???
And do you know my favorite thing about it? Well, besides the soothing sounds of repetitive waves gracefully falling against crystal white sand… and the wonder of the massive blue-green abyss that opens my soul to receive all the majesty the scene has to offer…
My fondest appreciation, when the clouds make way, is “the light,” direct from above, that touches the surface of my skin, grazes my eyelids, and finds its way to the center of my soul. It’s the overwhelming peace that the warmth stirs within me I have fallen in love with.
And isn’t this how it goes with anything “light” that touches our life? Bringing forth a sense of comfort and joy that the darkness and cold attempt to smother.
GOD is that light.
And His people are that light….
When you turn your face to God’s presence, and when you surround yourself with His people, your life has an almost magical way of soaking in the richness of His luminous blessings. Everything within brightens… and reflects as shimmers of radiance seeping out His overflow of love, joy, beauty and grace.
Open yourself to His light today. Let it fill up in you… and out from you… and bless you… and all of those around you…
Reflect: What area of your life could use some brightening up? How can you open your heart to God’s light? Or to the light others are trying to share?
Pray: Lord in heaven, you are the light of the world. You are the light in “my” world. Help me breathe in your warm and bright presence. Thank you for offering peace and comfort in abundance every day. Open my eyes to your light and the people you shine through to lift me up. In your glorious name, Amen.
Seek The Word: For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! (Ephesians 5:8) For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6) I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. (John 12:46)
